Questions asked

The first round was aptitude, held at TCS Gandhinagar office, consisting of multiple sections:

Numerical Ability: Questions based on quantitative aptitude and basic mathematical reasoning (mainly Averages, Percentage, P/L, Time and Work, Pipe and Cistern, SI/CI, Permutation and Combination, Probability).

Reasoning Ability: Logical reasoning and analytical ability questions.

Verbal Ability: English language, grammar, vocabulary, and comprehension-based questions.

Overall tips

I would suggest that your preparation should not be limited to DSA alone. You should also be comfortable explaining the technologies and concepts mentioned in your resume and have a basic understanding of important CS fundamentals.

Email Writing: We were asked to write an email convincing our manager to start an internship program at the company (100 words).

Coding / DSA: The assessment also included 2 DSA-based coding questions (one was string based and other was stack based question).

Overall, my aptitude went decent, but I was able to solve both the dsa questions. Hence, I was selected for the Prime role for the offline interview.

Questions asked

The interview was a combination of technical, project-related, and behavioral questions.

Firstly, the interviewer asked me to introduce myself. So, I gave my introduction. I mentioned about my past education, what technologies I work with, what am I learning currently, etc.

Then the interviewer started asking these question one by one:

  1. What do you know about Docker? (explained briefly)
  2. Docker vs Kubernetes?
  3. What is Denormalization in databases? (Wasn't able to answer)
  4. What is Dynamic Programming? (Wasn't able to answer)
  5. What do you know about AI/ML?
  6. What are "No Code" platforms?

I had mentioned a web-socket based project in my resume. So he asked me:

  1. to explain the project
  2. tech stack used
  3. difficulties faced
  4. how to scale it

Then another interviewer asked me about cloud platforms. What cloud provider do I use? Why I chose a particular provider over others?

One more thing, in my case, I was not asked to write code on paper during the interview. However, some of the other candidates appearing for the Prime role interview were asked to write code on paper. So the interview process can vary between candidates, and it is better to be prepared.

That was it. After 4 days, I received an offer for Digital role.
